Regular readers of CASTLES will recall our coverage of Brufut Gardens a modern estate in The Gambia. Brufut Gardens is situated on a 36 hectares piece of land, comprising over 600 bungalows, villas, houses and apartments all overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located opposite the newly built five star Sheraton Hotel, approximately ten minutes drive to Senegambia/ Kairaba (The Gambia’s main tourism cluster). Currently, Brufut Gardens is considered as Gambia’s most modern housing estate and compares to any international standard.
The magnificent features of the estate include bituminised roads, landscaped terraces and sidewalks, street lightings, 24-hour electricity connected to the main grid and independent water supply (borehole, 250,000 litres elevated water reservoir) with a back-up generator, garbage collection, and street cleaning service and 24-hour security.
